The Outpatient Department (OPD) services at AIIMS were inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 14th April 2023, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s commitment to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare. Currently, a total of 25 Specialty and 11 Super Specialty OPDs are operational, catering to a wide spectrum of medical needs.
The Specialty OPDs include departments such as General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiology, Transfusion Medicine, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), Radiation Oncology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, Hospital Administration, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental, Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, and AYUSH.
In addition, the Super Specialty OPDs encompass departments like Neonatology, Paediatric Surgery, Urology, Clinical Haematology, Neurology, Burns & Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS), Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine and Surgical Oncology. Department-wise OPD room numbers are systematically allocated to ensure efficient patient navigation and service delivery.

- Login with registered Mobile Number,then enter OTP.
- Generate token number from ABHA Application through Scan and share.
- Click Appointment icon
- Select department → Slots → Confirm.
- Check on “Request Status"
- Visit counter number 11 to generate the OPD Sticker.

Central Laboratory Services are located on the 1st floor of the OPD Building. They comprise the departments of Biochemistry and Pathology . The Microbiology Laboratory is also situated on the 1st floor, Room 1071. These laboratories provide centralized investigational services to IPD, OPD, and Trauma & Emergency patients round the clock.

AIIMS Guwahati provides In-Patient Department (IPD) services across various specialties and super-specialties in the hospital's IPD block. A patient is referred for admission to the IPD either from the outpatient department or the emergency unit. If a patient arrives at the emergency unit and requires further treatment, they are shifted to the IPD. Patients who are advised to undergo a procedure or surgery in the hospital may be admitted for preoperative check-ups and preparation, as per the doctor's advice. AB-PMJAY services and RBSK services have been activated for the beneficiaries.
AIIMS Guwahati offers well-equipped general wards for various specialties, ensuring quality inpatient care. Below is the list of available general wards:
