Department of Medical Oncology/ Hematology

Introduction:
The Department of Medical Oncology/Hematology, AIIMS Guwahati will cater to the needs of the Northeast population and provide affordable tertiary healthcare facilities in the field of Medical Oncology/Hematology for adult as well as pediatric population. The Hematology section looks after and treats blood-related disorders, both benign and malignant. These include disorders associated with low hemoglobin, blood cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, and Multiple Myeloma), bleeding disorders, and other rare disorders. Gradually we plan to establish state-of-the-art Thalassemia and Hemophilia centers. Our aim is to establish a Bone marrow transplant unit that will cater to the need of the Northeastern population.
