The Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati, serves as an exemplary academic center focused on the progression and enhancement of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. Clinical Services :

The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology caters the following services at present:

  • X-ray imaging: X-rays of all body parts as required can be taken. There are also 2 mobile units that are used to take X-rays of patients who cannot be moved to the X-ray unit.
  • Ultrasound Imaging: US imaging for all body parts can be carried out along with Doppler imaging for arterial and venous systems and also for visceral vessels.
  • CT Imaging: The department is equipped with a state-of-the-art CT scanner, allowing us to conduct a variety of CT studies. These include both non-contrast and contrast studies of the brain, abdomen, and lungs. We also perform Cardiac CT, coronary CT, and CT angiography for the vessels of the brain, abdomen, lungs, and peripheral arteries. The CT is equipped with sophisticated advanced software for Brain and peripheral perfusion imaging. 
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging: MR offers a wide range of diagnostic options, including both routine and advanced imaging protocols. These protocols include Cardiac MRI, Body imaging, MSK imaging, MR angiography, diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion-weighted imaging, MR spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging, and functional MRI.
