Emergency Medical Services (EMS) serve as the backbone of any health institution. Our department exemplifies this critical role. We are dedicated to providing immediate and comprehensive care to patients experiencing acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries.
The Trauma and Emergency Medicine Department at AIIMS, Guwahati is staffed by a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, residents, 3 expert Trauma and emergency medicine specialists presently, and specialists from various medical and surgical disciplines. This multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to manage critically ill or injured patients of all ages. The department is committed to deliver round-the-clock, comprehensive emergency care for a wide range of acute and life-threatening conditions—24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We aim to provide rapid, high-quality emergency care that saves lives and minimizes the impact of acute medical conditions and injuries. To establish AIIMS, Guwahati, as a leading centre for Trauma & Emergency care, recognized for excellence in clinical services, education, and research. To enhance the community's health and safety by improving emergency response capabilities and raising awareness about emergency care.

Besides, the department also plans to conduct various other workshops and CME's related to Trauma and Emergency Medicine in the future.
The faculties of the department have published multiple studies and case reports in various journals.
The faculties, Residents and Nursing officers have also presented e-posters in various National level conferences.
The faculties and residents are presently involved in various research projects which shall be published in near future.
